Cornelious Brackens, Jr. found painting through the Stewpot Art Program run by First Presbyterian Church of Dallas. He had no training, only curiosity and faith. His bold, folk-style portraits depict friends and neighbors, capturing character over likeness. He has exhibited at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, and Laura Bush displayed his gifted religious painting in the White House residence.

6. Pascale Mancon Pryor

Pascale Mancon Pryor, a Dallas-based metal and glass sculptor and owner of Les Jardins de Pascale, creates large-scale works inspired by nature's organic forms. Wild Mushrooms transforms a familiar woodland form into something unexpected, oversized and playful, echoing Pop Art's love of enlarging the everyday. Rising from a wildflower field, these mushrooms feel part sculpture, part storybook. Look closely and find delicate gills beneath an aluminum dome repurposed from a rocket fuel tank, pairing craftsmanship with whimsical scale. Welder, fabricator, and co-owner of Les Jardins de Pascale, James Bauer spent three decades mastering metal fabrication, building flight-rated rocket engines and pressure vessels for NASA- and FAA-certified aerospace vehicles, welding exotic alloys like titanium and Inconel, and training under NASA's head welder. His engineering background shapes his sculptural forms: he's drawn to the triangle for its strength and lightness, while polka dots bring a playful spirit to the structure. Red-green color-blind, Bauer chooses colors by how he perceives them, the deep blue dots against orange creating strong contrast within his visual spectrum and becoming essential to the design. Thai Nguyen is an immigrant from Saigon, Vietnam. He's been creating commercial and fine art for over 40 years. His works have been displayed around the United States.
